April Activities
Precious Lil’ Person!

The Goodmama Gang has also been

all over, around, through, and in and out of town that is the past two weeks.

Easter was filled with lots of Samantha “filling” her basket.

Time with both Grandparents and lots of loving from the cousins!
Four Easter Egg Hunts in a matter of 48 hours.
(One was coordinated by her bff on the street who filled all the eggs for her post Easter).
Samantha beamed with delight as she once again found “candies” stuffed in the colored “balls”.
Yes, thats how she refereed to the Easter Eggs.

Easter!

Its so funny, people look at me like “what did she say?” and I just KNOW.
I used to get looks of “huh” and “what did she say” all the time about what I WOULD say.
Truth be told, I still do.

Cheese!

So, now its hilarious to me, because I truly think Samantha speaks her own language.
Good thing I speak it as well.
Now, I just figure I am not the only strange one.
Its way more fun speaking in code, incomplete sentences, and phrases.
My High School English Honors Teacher would have a cow.
Good thing, I didn’t like her anyway.

I like this ONE a lot More.
Especially sporting my new attempt at “pig-tails”.

We have been enjoying the return of the summer heat.
And making use of the water works around the neighborhood.

Bikini’s on Babies.
A serious MUST.

We started swim lessons last week, 5 days in a row “spring intensive” which has now rolled into a mommy and me class with a handful of girlfriends and their babes.
Interested? Please join! Were having a blast ๐Ÿ™‚

10 days straight in the water.
My little fish can now say “pool”, attempts the word “swim” and of course, screams at the top of her lungs when passing any body of water, because she just assumes were going in.
Oh, brother.

Upon passing rain gutters full of water I say “dirty”- and she says
“mama, dirty wa-wa”.
BUT still says “please” which means she would still like to go in.
We don’t get very far in the understanding dirty water department.
Could be my letting her jump through rain puddles adds to this on going problem.

The three of us have been attempting more reading in the evenings.
And by “reading”, I mean Samantha likes to point to the “bunny” in one book or look through her baby book from her first month home.
(Confession, this is the only book I have created for her).
(Second confession, She Doesn’t Care).
(Third confession, I seriously stink at scrapbooking).

Reading With Daddy.

We have spent some afternoons in the front yard playing with our neighbors and friends.
Samantha decided to build a fort.
She wore her diaper all afternoon.
I figured, why dirty another outfit.
It was warm out, okay?

Fort Building

We took a quick trip to the desert with grandma and grandpa & had a grand old time!

Papa’s Birthday Dinner!

Styling in Sunnies!

And slept the whole way home, from Riverside to Irvine.

Sweetness
&
Pinkness.

Its been a superb start to spring.

Desert, Domestic Duties, & An Unexpected Interruption

Desert, Domestic Duties, & An Unexpected Interruption
Sleeping Beauty
Its been a little quiet over here in the OCGoodmama online world the past week.
Not the case in my “real world” mama existence on the other hand.
We took off last weekend for an adventure to La Quinta, (aka- “the desert”).
I was recently reminded of how strange it is to call it “the desert” by one of our family members. Yes, Uncle Jon, I just officially named you family here on the blog. Your the real deal my friend.
He remarked on how it doesn’t make sense to call it the “desert”.
Like, we folk around here name things and decide to call them by those things if WE think it makes sense.
Hello, duh.
Its strange, but its what we local southern californian’s have always named are local hot spots,
“beach”
“mountains”
“desert”
If you tell me your headed to one of the above names, I most likely know where your headed.
Were a weird bunch, but I love us.
Hubbs and I packed up our bags early friday morning (more like late Thursday night).
Hubbs took our car to the office and met us in “the desert” at the outlets.
Gram & Mam shopped, while Papa and Sam snacked and people watched.
(EKKK! I was so excited…Hubbs never stops at the outlets for more than five minutes, so having Gram along to shop with and Papa along to babysit was HEAVEN).
We kicked the weekend off to such a fun start.
I will leave the rest of the “adventure telling” of the weekend for a post over at GMS.
But for now, I leave you with my favorite picture from our trip.

Besties.
I had every intention of coming home and writing…
 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
and yet, hello, Thursday.
How are you my friend?
๐Ÿ™‚
I spent the better part of the last couple days playing with a dear college girlfriend,
attempting to, fulfilling of,
more like…
“getting started on”my domestic duties,
fighting off an annoying lingering head cold (SNOOZE alert) and reading.
My brain could not focus to write, so instead I read.
And I finally finished this,
(via)
Interrupted.
(I have also recently become a convert to buying books here when every I get a chance).
Thanks for messing up my little world Jen Hatmaker.
No but seriously, thanks.
It was the most challenging, convicting, heart-exposing, my feet need to hit the pavement and get going type of read.
I don’t think you can put this book down and not feel like your world was a bit interrupted after.
So, that’s all, from the peanut gallery over here.
Until, we meet again, hopefully not so long as this last time.
xoxo

Mellow Monday

Mellow Monday

OCGoodmama & Fam spent the past weekend in the desert. Palm Desert that is-at the G-Parents new diggs. It was gorg, the weather was wonderful, & Samantha had a blast!

We spent the weekend mostly lounging by the pool, eating, & sipping yummy bevs. Samantha took great naps, enjoyed the new surroundings, and was obsessed with floating in the pool. She is SO my daughter! I love it!
With this “taste” of summer-I am looking forward to all time we will get to spend at the pool, near the beach, and wearing sundress’s and flip-flops. On that note, I am leaving the laundry and umm….heading to the pool?! Yes~!
Samantha loving the water…

Hanging with Dad!

Pink Girls!

So… its a Mellow Monday. So… not much is getting accomplished. I live my life constantly needing to check things off the list, strive to be ubber-organized, keeping things in order, fridge stocked, laundry laundered, etc., etc., etc. You ALL know the drill. We who live in OC-are literally running are lives at such a pace where we struggle to come up for air. Many times-trying to get things done-and worry about them in a way that we were never intended to do-we worry & stress SO much. (Or at least I DO!) I’m trying to take to heart recent messages from church-having the JOY of the Lord-and less of all the worry.
So on that note…”Samantha-mum” & Mama are heading out to the sun.
Happy Monday!
xoxo
